                                                                 Theory Of Writing

Everyone has their own theory of writing. According to me, I believe my theory of writing is to deliver the opinion to my audience through my writing. I feel like writing has its own voice which helps us to reach out to own audience. As writers learn, work, and grow, many of us find it useful to construct a “theory of writing”. A description of what we apprehend writing to be and how our writing practices have labored in the past, currently work and may work in the future. As I look back at my English 10100 class experience, all I can imagine how scared I was at the beginning of this semester. I have learned so many things that I never did back in high school. Writing an essay was never my forte. Back in high school I have always managed to get through the essays somehow and did not even care about my writing skills.

When I enrolled in English 10100 class, so many people told me that college-level English is more of writing and lots of reading. And that made me scared because I was not a good writer. However, starting college and taking English 10100 helped me with my weaknesses and changed my technique of writing essays. My experience in English 10100 taught me to write to my fullest potential and to write what I felt, rather than writing what was required. I did some research paper and argument essays back in high school. But never done rhetorical analysis, genre and audience strategies. So, when I was first introduced to them in English 10100, I was anxious and did not know that I was going to get through it.

My first assignment was an inquiry-based essay. When I first looked at the prompt, I was so confused and did not know how to start and organize my thoughts properly. Organizing my topic and putting them into words was one of the hardest things to do. I remember having to read an essay or the readings before I should ever sit down and write about it. I was looking at the words all wrong. However, my professor introduced a technique of reading critically. A critical analysis, on the other hand, takes a viewpoint and attempts to the writing. Another essay I did during the semester was a source-based essay. In that essay, we had to choose a topic and find a relatable sourced from online and talk about its negative and positive outcomes. Every assignment I did during this semester was very educational and inspiring. But I feel like a source-based essay was one of the most challenging assignments I did this semester. However, I get to learn about topics that people do not pay attention to, and this interests me the most. This assignment also helped me to do critical analysis so that the audience can understand what the main purpose is.

The composition of the genre was truly an excellent and most fun assignment I did so far. I get to draw my own cartoon according to my topic. I choose cartoons and newspaper articles for my genre to explain the topic more briefly. I feel like these two genres are very strong and bold that the audience does not need much explanation from the writer. Though the genre in which I typically write is especially fiction the exploration exceptional kinds of fiction offers me the viewpoint of writing with a new method for the new challenge. Creative writing has additionally changed the way I idea about my unique distaste for writing, into a passion, though tutorial writing nonetheless is no longer my favorite, However, my professor used to give us a brief discussion about the writing. Also, we use to do one-o-one discussion sessions, peer review before every assignment we did in the English class. So, that made my confusion clears about the topics and how to write them. As a student, I feel like peer reviews helped me a lot because I used to get feedback from my classmates and get to know what I am doing wrong and what needs to be improved. And also get to tell them that they need to fix. This type of analysis helped me understand better what the author was trying to convey and it also helped me explain it better in my essays. Moreover, I never felt bored or unapproachable towards any assignments.

I now see myself as a writer who has learned new techniques to assist enhance my writing together with style, word choice, and the revision process. Even although I see myself as an elevated writer, I still believe, I have lots of room for improvement. When I first began English 101, I saw myself as having a few accurate strengths and weaknesses as a writer. Some of my strengths include being able to write a proper introduction minus the thesis part. I have learned many things throughout the course, including such things as how to write an essay and how to improve on essays that I have already written, how to locate and composite better research through the use of numerous resources and write essays from them. I learned what genre is, how to analyze the rhetorical situation, do a research paper, inquiry-based essays and so many other things. After every assignment, I think I improved my writing skills smoother and more convenient which I could not do it at the beginning of the semester. Each assignment had different aspects which was very difficult to process at times. Some of the time I did not understand the assignment itself. I was very anxious when I had to write the seven-paper page. The value of expressing my ideas in writing can influence how others experience about my ideas in writing. When I assume of the effect my work can have on others I understand the outcomes should be fantastic or negative. The high-quality side of writing is the potential to train your target market on the topic.

I learned all about the rhetorical situations and how to follow them in my writing and how to look for them in an essay. I have additionally learned how to argue both sides of an argument, and how to use dependable sources and to properly quote them. I have noticed that I did not have any flow while writing something very important. I fixed up all my writing in my works dealing with one of a kind factors in writing. This English 1100 course has uncovered me to how a properly piece of work is made. Writing is a system and mastering the system has helped me to be the better writer I am today. Now I know how to explain articles or essays by way of understanding what the author is trying to say to the audience.

Some of the enhancements I saw in my writing throughout the semester is studying how to write an essay and connect that to communicate with the audience with my very own private voice. All the assignments were different from each other and was very interesting to do. I also learned how to do our own online portfolio that helped me to see the progression as a writer. I am planning to use them in the future in order to succeed and accomplish my goals. I began the semester with little to no organization when it comes to writing. I feel confident about my writing which I was not even before the beginning of this semester. Many of my writing characteristics have changed considering that I have been in English 10100. While being in English this semester my writing has continued to improve greatly. This was in general due to what I have changed seeing that excessive school. English 10100 class did not only help me to strengthen my writing skills but also helped me to be confident to talk in front of the class.
